Go Team Yellow!

In our ward there are 3 classes of Sunbeams. So tons of kids Abby's age. Some mom's decided to start a soccer club for 4 year olds. Today was the first day of the club. Abby was assigned to team Yellow. She had on her yellow shirt, pink shorts, and of course her movie star socks (above the knee). Abby did an excellent job in drills. She dribbled around the cones better than any of the boys (oh there are only 2 other girls on the 2 teams). Coach Celeste then had 2 kids run after the ball at the same time. When it was Abby's turn, she got to the ball first, then the other little boy pushed her down and took the ball. She came crying to mom and dad. Then they played a game, Abby sat out the first half of the game, still mad at the boy for pushing her.

During halftime, after a pep talk from coach Abby decided to "play". Mostly she watched and laughed at everyone. The few times she got the ball the other team Red, would take the ball from her. Again she came crying to mom. Then Abby and Joey (one of her best friends) decided they would play soccer together and were holding hands while playing. Too cute. In the end she said she had fun, and isn't it the experience that counts? We'll see how she does next week.

We called Grandma Beck. Abby told her "when I'm older, and bigger, and meaner I will take the ball from the red team with my strong muscles and pick the mean boys up and swirl them in the air and throw them, when I'm older and meaner" Ahh, the things kids say.

Here's Abby dribbling the ball...
Here she is playing, you can see the rest of the people in action...
